September 2010
The CMS PTG Board welcomes new families and returning families to the middle school. We
hope you had a wonderful summer and are energized for another rewarding school year.
Who is the CMS PTG?
- The CMS PTG is made up of all Concord Middle School parents, faculty and
administrators.
- We work together to enrich the middle school experience for each student.
How can you get involved?
- Volunteering is a great way to support your child's experience at CMS, connect with the school, and meet other parents.
- Review the "Volunteer Form" included with this packet. For questions please call Chris French, PTG Vice President and Volunteer Coordinator, at 978-369-6538.
Where do PTG Funds come from?
- "After school Arts & Activities (AAA) Fund" is our primary fundraiser at CMS. These funds are directed solely at funding after school programs and activities for students.
- PTG dues fund our operating expenses.
What are the PTG Funds used for?
- Supports teachers', administrators' and staff' efforts to enrich the educational process for our children.
- Funds many co-curricular activities and special programs for students. For an overview of the programs for the school year, please refer to the Student Activity Guide published in the school directory.
- Facilitates the exchange of ideas among parents by hosting educational forums and social gatherings for parents.
What are the PTG operating expenses?
- PTG prepares a school directory with student information. This is distributed at Back-to-School night. Send a payment of $30 (PTG dues). This will provide you with one copy of the directory. Additional copies may be ordered for $5. To facilitate communication, the PTG publishes a daily bulletin and a monthly newsletter for parents.
- Daily Announcements is a concise daily publication to keep parents informed of
dates, times and important notices relating to upcoming CMS events and issues.
- The Missive is an in-depth monthly newsletter.
- PTG distributes both of these publications primarily via Email.
- For more details on the operating expenses contact a board member.
What do I need to do?
- Please make check ($30) payable to CMS PTG, and place the check in an envelope addressed to CMS PTG and return it to your child's building no later than September 15th.
- Please return your PTG volunteer form to either school office by Tuesday, September 15th.
- Please remember to pledge for the "After school Arts & Activities (AAA) Fund" in October.
