Congratulations 8th Grade Graduates and Families!!
Monday’s 8th grade graduation was a lovely event, held on the Sanborn soccer field under sunny skies. Approximately 234 graduating students were recognized individually in a ceremony filled with student readings of poetry, songs by CMS choir groups and a keynote address by Acting METCO Director Debra Jemison (below).
our PTG Dollars at Work: Field Day 2022
How wonderful it was to finally return to having Field Day at CMS! The kids bounced, jumped and dodged in many large inflatable attractions, played soccer and cornhole and enjoyed popsicles on a perfect summer day this past Friday. Field Day is funded by the “Happy Spring Memories” fundraiser and our annual appeal. Many thanks to the CMS families who donated to either or both of these campaigns.
Your PTG Dollars at Work: 8th Graders Celebrate in Grand Style
It was a fun-filled celebratory evening at the 8th grade semi-formal dinner and dance last night. Over 90% of the class was in attendance, enjoying music, dancing, dinner and the photo booth. Ticket fees do not cover all expenses, so we are grateful to the CMS families who made this evening possible by providing desserts and/or funding the event via the PTG’s annual appeal or “Happy Spring Memories” fundraiser.

Update Your Info for Next Year’s Student Directory
Work will begin in mid-summer on next year’s CMS Student and Staff Directory. Please make any updates to your student and family contact information in Aspen before July 15th to ensure that your changes are included in this fall’s edition. To make sure your information is published correctly, click here now to find out which pieces of your data the CMS version uses and where to check that they are accurate. Have a rising 6th grader? Don’t forget to update their info for the CMS format too.
A huge round of applause to Kristin Martines and Deb Antonangeli for organizing and running Field Day, to Terri Bono for being a great advisor and to the many parent/guardian volunteers, teachers, custodians and administrators who stepped up to help make the day a great success for the kids.
We are very grateful to the 8th grade activities committee for putting together an amazing semi-formal dinner and dance for our graduates. Major kudos to Jen Kamionek for chairing the event. Jen sends her thanks to Monica Teng for the slide show, Kathryn Watson for tons of shopping, committee members Katie Fahey, Adriana Nunez and Carolyn Schweitzer for all their help and to the many others who signed up to volunteer to set up the dance, pick up balloons, donate desserts, staff the event and be the fastest clean up crew around! Special thanks to Jen McGonigle of Joy Street Life+Home in West Concord for securing helium for the events. (These days, this is harder than you think!) Finally, a huge shoutout to Justin Cameron and the CMS staff members who attended and worked the dance.
